Iowa State Fair!

Growing up in Iowa, going to the state fair in August was just what everyone did. I've read in a few magazines that it is one of the best state fairs in the nation!:) Who am I to argue? Some of my fondest memories of the fair are: seeing my first concert there w/ my parents (REO Speedwagon), eating all the deliciously horrible for you fried food, being hosed down b/c of the heat at the New Kids on the Block concert, cattle showings, viewing of the infamous Butter Cow, even a tractor pull or two, and going w/ my best friend Kris to watch horse shows, ride the Midway rides, eat at the Iowa Pork Producers tent, and get ice cream at the Blue Bunny stand. I had some great times at the fair so it's only fitting that I want my kids to experience it too! Here are some pictures from a good 'ol Iowa tradition.

Ah yes, the concerts! :) Was is REO Speedwagon, or Jefferson Starship? (or both?) We'll have to take the all the kids (and maybe the husbands, too) there again soon!
