Sluggo

OK, Grandma, you may want to just skip this one altogether. No? OK, you've been warned. Little A & Dad went looking for bugs, and we found two large slugs and a few snails under a drain area. We put them in our bug catcher, and they immediately began their slimy climb to the top of the container. I thought it would be a good idea to show mom what we found, so we took her the slugs. Needless to say, mom was less interested in the slugs than we were. I do have to admit that getting the slug slime off of our hands was much more difficult than I expected -- compares well to a salt-water sail cat (type of catfish) slime.

Air Show Practice

We got invited to the VIP tent at the air show pilot practice (thanks to Calvin and the Northland Buddies group :-) It was HOT, but the kids did really well.

Family Reunion

We had a large part of Sue's family in town for the weekend, which was a lot of fun. I'll let her blog more about it, but wanted to get a few pics up!

Visit from Aunti Joan

We had a nice visit with Joan coming to Kansas City with a friend of hers who was visiting her daughter who happened to live only a few miles away. She was a great help with the kids, and brought a positive outlook on our routine craziness to the house.

Buck Night at the Royals

We went with two other families to "Buck Night" (concessions are $1) at the Royals stadium to watch the Royals lose to the Devil Rays on a hot summer evening. It was a fun time, and the kids held up pretty well. Parking, $8, Cheapest 4 tickets to get in: $48, waiting in line for 30 minutes to get a hot dog while entertaining a hot 2-year old, priceless.
